The Central Georgia Community Profile

The goals of the Community Profile:

  • To gather information about the community for the purpose of identifying needs and gaps in services that must be addressed to improve breast health
  • To identify the populations most in need of breast health services

The uses of the Community Profile:

  • To identify the gaps between services that are currently provided and services that are needed.
  • To evaluate the impact the local grant programs are having on the status of breast health within our community.

The Community Profile is a snapshot, or a picture, of the community, specifically looking at breast health and breast cancer. The profile includes:

  • demographics, such as population by age, race, ethnicity, education and income levels,
  • breast cancer statistics, such as screening, incidence and mortality rates,
  • an assessment of current services for breast cancer screening and treatment in the community,
  • a survey of the community's beliefs and attitudes about breast cancer through interviews with key informants.

If you have any questions or concerns about the Community Profile, please contact our Mission Outreach Coordinator, Amy Walker.
